A Christmas Tree for Anthony

We decorated our Christmas Tree and then decided that we wanted to decorate a tree for Anthony.  So I found a little tree and cemented it into a pot and then we let the kids decorate it.

Then we went and put it at Anthony’s grave! What healing such simple things can bring.

I attended a Share Parents meeting and it was so good to listen to the advice of other’s that have lost a child or several children.   I am grateful that I went because they read a story called “Tear Soup” and it’s about how when sorrows come we make a soup and some people only cook their soup for short time while others need to let it simmer.  What I liked most about the story was at the end they stored the soup in the freezer so that if needed they could pull it out and let it cook for a time again.  With this we talked about things that can trigger the need to cook your soup some more.  One of which is when a family or friend is faced with the loss of a loved one.  A week after this meeting I found out that my cousin was miscarrying for the second time and it brought back those feelings of helplessness.  Then about a week later a friend of ours delivered their baby pretty early.  About 5 days later he passed away in the arms of his mom.  My heart ached for their loss but I was so grateful to get to read the words of her testimony of the Eternal Plan and that we can all be together as a family forever and how it strengthened mine.

A lot of personal spiritual growth has come from this trial for which I am grateful for yet sad that it came this way, but I would like to take this time now to bear you my testimony of the Lord and his Eternal Plan.

I miss Anthony every day but the Lord strengthens me, comforts me, and carries me when I need Him.  He is real, He is there for us, and I have been truly humbled through this experience to come to rely upon Him more.  Christ knows what we are going through and is standing ready to rush to us when we need Him.  I love the Lord and His gospel.  I love my family and have a testimony that we will be together forever so long as we strive to follow the Lord’s commandments.  This testimony I leave with you in the name of Jesus Christ, Amen.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  We are spending Thanksgiving this year at home.  I had fun trying to create a fun and special looking table!

We want to thank all of our Friends and Family for all the love and support you have given us, especially over the last few months.  I remember a question our Bishop asked me when I was in the hospital just before Anthony was born.  He asked “How is your support group?”  My answer at the time was “small”.  But I have learned that I have a much larger support group than I ever imagined.  Thank you for always being there for us!

WE LOVE YOU ALL!!!!

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!!!

My Office

My office is one step closer to being put together.  I finally managed to tackle it and get the floor mostly cleared up.  I am not going to post a before picture of how bad it was but some of my friends and neighbors had the unfortunate experience of seeing it as a disaster and can attest that it looks much better.  It is still cluttered and one day I will be able to get it better organized but here it is for now!Picture 278Picture 279

Music Boy

Both of the kids really love music.  I got this video of Christian strumming on my guitar (that I don’t know how to play) and singing the ABC song.

Another Snowfall and Ari cut her hair again!

The kids were so excited when it started snowing today.  Christian asked for his hat and brought me his boots.  So reluctantly I took them outside to play.  Here’s a few pics:

Oh and Ari cut her hair last Thursday, so I took her to the hair salon to get it fixed.  Well I don’t like the new do (too much bangs) so we’ve been doing a lot of up-do's and will probably continue for a while.

She basically cut it short in the front.

This is how much hair I was able to find (notice the quarter).
